I would totally do this.
I'm also way impressed by the girl in the formal.

Fun Videos
Work's been crazy this week, but I've been sent some video links.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
A fanmade trailer of P&P and zombies
And an awesome ninja song:
Poor ninja kids don't get to see their ninja dad.

Monday AMV
It's 105 today. 100 and freaking 5.
I worked outside in that. For five hours.
Heat. My immortal enemy.
Well . . . heat and samurais
As the Kung Fu Panda would say, "Their Kung Fu is so strong, their enemies were blinded by pure awesomeness."

New York Trip Report--Friday
Friday—
We took a bus from Arlington and got into Manhattan around 1 in the afternoon. I suggest using the bathroom on the bus, because trying to find a toilet around Madison Square Gardens is a little scary.
We got to our hotel, and discovered a lovely gift basket, with candy, bottled water, nuts, all kinds of goodies. There was also a note, stating that there were sensors in the basket, and that if you picked up anything for longer than 20 seconds, it would be automatically added to your account. This caused some concern, since one of the packets of M&M’s was off its sensor.
“Just wait,” BSA warned, “That sucker’s going to show up on our bill.”
We made our way down to the Ninja restaurant. You get into this elevator, and when it opens, everything’s dark. A ninja with a sword jumps out and high-yas at you. Then he says “Welcome to Ninja. I will guide you to my village. Would you like to take the shortcut, or the secret ninja passageway?”
We voted for the passageway.
Our guide took off down the dark passageway. It was narrow and hard to see, and I was afraid that I would miss a turn or something and smash into a wall. I was also pretty sure that our guide would jump out at us. We got to one part of the tunnel that just looked creepy. I thought, “If I was our guide, this is where I would hide.” So I stopped. I was trying to psych myself up for walking into the trap, when our guide jumped out from behind us and grabbed BSA, who screamed like a little girl.

The restaurant is dark, but it's all set up like a ninja village.
The tables are all set up like little houses, with sliding doors. Cute eh?
All the servers are dressed up like ninjas, and the menus are on scrolls. We both ordered the five course tasting menu.
My first course was the clam bombshell. It came with Gruyere fondue, and the server pointed out that I had no clam on my plate. He showed me another, which had this enormous clam sitting on a pile of white crystals. There was a fuse trailing from the crystals. He lit on fire, did a whole ninja hand sign thingy, and then the crystals caught on fire with a bright flash, and as the flames burned the clam slowly opened, showing the tasty meats inside.
It was AWESOME.
I had a ninja crab ball that was disguised as a household plant, (very difficult to eat with chopsticks), we had sushi, and BSA got some pork dish with squid ink that made it look scary. All dark and slimy. Like something you would eat with fava beans and a nice Chianti. It tasted good though.
Our fourth course was steak, and then while we waited for dessert, Mike the magic guy came by and gave us a magic show. He was very entertaining. Then for dessert, I had a chocolate ball, and inside was strawberry mousse, cake and chocolate pudding. BSA got a chocolate mousse and strawberry dish that was served with a rose and dry ice.
It was very cool.

Fortunately, my ninja training allows me to remain calm under pressure, and also to agree to tip a generous 20%.
Actually, we asked our server if we could take her picture and she said "Wait a sec," and disappeared (how ninja-y!) We thought maybe she went to get one of the big ninja guys, but instead she came back with that short sword and stuck it right up to my neck.

Friday Fun--Early
Ninjas perform the Algorithm march. The guy on first shows you how to do it, while singing the song/instructions. The ninjas come on after him.
I found this because it was labeled "Ninja Dance."
Here's another Ninja Dance:
Enjoy!

Office Ninja Day
It's Office Ninja Day!! So be sure to properly appreciate your friendly office ninja. After all, they know the ancient secrets of the copy machine.
My dojo is appreciating us through copious amounts of food. Plus one of the Samauri that I support brought me a vase full of tulips.
I feel very appreciated. :)
What a great Wednesday.

Amazing Race-Ninja Edition
After watching this week's episode, I'm going to have to add a Hong Kong Action Movie Tour to my list of possible vacations.
It rocked.
We started off with airport shenanigans and fighting between the teams. The Schmirna's continued to violate the cubicle boundaries of ticket agents, while the Cubans upset me by conspiring with Team Crazy to help them pull ahead of Team Frat.
Sure Eric and Danielle are annoying, but they can't touch the sheer irritation factor of The Schmirnas.
The Cubans got on the first flight and the Fast Forward, which required them to strap in while a driving stuntman flipped their car. Fun!! What a cake walk fast forward. Last season, the FF at this point of the show forced contestants to eat a plate of cow lips. Many of which still feautred teeth and bits of leftover cow mustache. Gross.
But for those coming after, they got to scale 11 stories of bamboo scaffolding while avoiding pairs of fighting ninjas!!!
Yes!!!
What a great job. Here, we're going to rig safety lines, and all you have to do is spar on bamboo scaffolding. Sweet.
And bonus points to the BQs, since one of them managed to land a kick on a nearby ninja.
The awesomeness only continued when the racers went to an old building rigged with dramatic doors. One well placed kick and doors burst from hinges while racers searched for clues.
And when The Schmirnas took a taxi all the way to Hong Kong island, and then got on the ferry going the wrong way, and they asked that girl for directions, and you could tell she was totally trying not to laugh as she politely pointed out that the island they just left was the island that they were looking for... that was nice.
And then Frat Boy went and blew it by refusing to hire a cab to follow. When they were in last place. In Hong Kong.
If I may quote Napolean Dynamite here: "Idiots!"

Ninja Report
BSA's laptop has displayed all the longevity of a lemming as various internal bit and pieces commit electronic seppuku. However, every trip to tech support has only led to more problems. Since she bought it, the laptop has spent more time at the tech service than at home.
Today, using my ninja skills, I discovered why this poor little laptop has such problems.

Nan and "This Guy"
1. I have seen Firefly. Excellent series. I'm a fan of Mr. Whedon, and am currently enjoying his run on Astonishing X-men. He's also producing a comic of Buffy: Season 8.
2. I'm not going to LA. I watch 24, and so I know that LA is constantly being bombed, gassed, nuked, and overrun with wild cougar. If I want to visit a city that Hollywood is constantly trying to destroy, I'll go to NY.
3. Nan did tell me about This Guy (TG) but she needs to work on her marketing skills. She said you need a picture of me, even though my mouse in helmet is awfully cute. From the pictures she has of TG, I'm tempted to send the photo taken after my knee surgery, however, I like this one better.

Be on the look out for these guys. After all, it's your duty as a ninja to defend your turf from rival ninjas. Even rival bbq ninjas.
