An Awesome Dad

Tonight at Krav, there was an older guy there, training with his son, who looked at least 17.

We were learning a take down, but we train on padded mats, and if your the attacker you slap out, so the take down doesn't hurt.

However, whenever the Dad went to take down his son, he would start the take down, but once his son would start falling, he would reach out and grab him, and then lower him gently to the floor.

So the instructors brought him up and showed him the move piece by piece, so he'd be sure not to hurt his son. And then the instructor took down the son, hard, and showed the dad that the son wasn't hurt.

"You don't have to protect your son. He's perfectly safe" They told him.

So a fully grown son, on padded wrestling mats, with two instructors acting as safeties.

The Dad started the move, got to the take down, but once his son started falling he grabbed him and lowered him to the floor.

He just couldn't stop himself from protecting his son.

It was the sweetest thing I've seen in a long time.
