Disney Fun

I've been house hunting, and its pretty much taking up any spare moment I have. So that's why the blog's been so slow lately.

This is fun though, the Disney Princesses and Suckerpunch

Sweet!

I'm flying home tomorrow, so things will be slow for awhile. Well, even slower than usual if we're being honest. :)

Star Trek

I went and saw the new Star Trek movie Friday night. BSA wanted to see it on IMAX, and the only show left was the 1245 am.

The movie was so good, I wasn't tired once. I never felt like it was 2 am. Or even 3 am. Its set in an alternate universe, so some of the stuff is different, but its still awesome. Especially McCoy and Scottie.

And it never bothered me that Spock was Sylar. I thought it would.

The special effects were amazing, and for the first time ever, they had the Enterprise, in space, upside down, vertical, all those fascinating ways that a ship can actually travel in space instead of riding like a Hyundai down some invisible galactic highway.

Monday Morning Awesomeness

Guess what I got for my birthday? Pretty much the most awesome book, evah!

Here's a hint:

And here's another hint:

Yes, I am now reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It begins with that famous opening statement, "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains."

I'm only to Chapter 4, but so far its been hilarious. It also enjoys the distinction of being the only book that I have ever actually read the list of illustrations.

Already I have seen the 5 Bennet sisters perform their zombie fighting technique "Pentagram of Death." Also, based on the aforementioned list of illustrations, I believe that Lady Catherine De Bergh employs ninjas. Awesome.

Friday Bummer

I was supposed to be at a hockey game tonight, but through a comedy of errors and the inconceivable thought that the Caps game would be sold out (How is that even possible? Every time I've been to a Caps game they're lucky to fill half the stadium) I basically went into DC and paid parking fees and all that nonsense to eat a sub sandwich.

Sigh. Since there's nothing out that I want to see, I'm at home perusing the internet. Let's look at something that will be fun to see.

Let's hope that this one features more Transformers and less Shia LeBoeuf.

Monday AMV

Well, not so much an AMV, it's a new Watchmen trailer.

Man am I tired of being sick. It gives me nothing to blog about. I slept. I blew my nose. I slept again. Blah.

However, I do have something exciting to blog about tonight!! We've finally found a way to participate in the awesome 24 drinking game!

Drinking games are rough when you don't drink, but you want to do SOMETHING everytime anyone says "Perimeter." But now we have our answer.

Caffeinated jello shots.

I used Mt Dew to make the jello, and now its cooling in a deviled egg dish, because we didn't have any little cups. But in a few hours it will set and we'll be prepped and ready to enjoy 24 the way it was meant to be enjoyed!!

With caffeinated jello shots.

At last!!

We have Gambit in an X-men movie.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Wolverine. But Gambit is hot in the movie AND in the comics.

Early Morning Funny

From College Humor, which dares to ask, what would happen if all movies had cell phones?

This an issue with so many movies, Glass House, I'm looking at you. You're just sitting there thinking, "You know, all of these problems could be solved with a phone call."

Romeo and Juliet is my favorite.

Monday Music Video

I thought we'd post some of DFL's preferred beefcake, but it turns out that it's really hard to find a music video of Will Smith that doesn't involve him rapping.

Still, this was the best part of Hitch, so enjoy!

Also, totally random, but this is hilarious:

Painful, yet Hilarious

You know, DFL always said she'd teach me more about the fabulous world of rock and roll, but she never said it would be so painful! Here's "Starship Trooper" with clips from the movie added in, to act as a balm against the 80s glitter.

COLIN FIRTH ALERT!!!

What's that you say? Colin Firth is involved in a sword and sorcery pseudo-historical bio-epic?

I like Colin Firth. I really do. But the role of disillusioned Roman General has already been defined by Russel Crowe, and the rest of the movie looks, well, not good.
